Environment Pollution
       We see many things around us. It is the environment. It is being polluted. There are four types. Air pollution, Water Pollution, Land Pollution and Noise Pollution.
Causes: a. Deforestation b. Nuclear tests and wastes c. Industrial development d. Uses of chemicals e. Uses of plastics f. Old, non-condition vehicles.

National Festivals
       We observe two types of festivals. National festivals and social festivals. Independence Day, Republic Day and Gandhi Jayanthi are national festivals. We got freedom on 15th August 1947. So every year we celebrate 15th August as Independence Day. Our constitution came into force on 26th January 1950. So we celebrate 26th January as Republic Day. Gandhiji was born on 2nd October. So we celebrate that day as Gandhi Jayanthi. National Festivals bring patriotic feelings. It creates oneness in people’s mind. It helps to bring national integration.
Mass Media
       Newspapers, Radio, Television and Computers are effective mass media. They help to know world affairs.
Advantages: They give entertainments, weather forecast, education, all types of news, knowledge, information about sports and games.
Disadvantages: They corrupt the mind, affect eyesight, make people lazy, waste time, destroy our culture, lead to unemployment, addiction to bad habits. We should make good use of them.
Internet
Meaning – The internet is a global wide area network that connects computer systems across the world.
Advantages: - It is used to send e-mail, research, download filing, interactive games, education and self-improvement, friendship, electronic newspapers and magazines, job hunting and shopping. For students – clarify their doubts, career growth and get knowledge.
Disadvantages: time waster, students neglect studies and work, curbs physical activities which lead to diseases, negative influence on children, lead to depression, loneliness, and social isolation.
Mobile Phones
A mobile phone is a voice communication device.
Advantages:

National Symbols
       Every country has its national symbols like national flag, national emblem, national anthem, national animal national bird etc. Our national flag has tricolour – saffron at the top, white in the middle and green at the bottom. There is Ashoka chakra in the middle of the white band. Our national emblem is Dharma Chakra. Our national anthem is Jana Gana Mana written by Rabindranath Tagore. Our national animal is a tiger. Our national bird is a peacock.
Story Expansion
How to expand and get at least 2 marks? -- First, write the story in the present tense or past tense. Usually, start the story with once \ Once upon a time. Where ever blank is given fill them up with noun or pronoun (it \ they \ he \ she) or verbs or articles (a \ an \ the)
Answer: Once a crow was thirsty. It searched for water. It saw water but it was at bottom of a pot. It made an idea. It put some pebbles into the pot. The water came up. It drank it and flew away.
Answer: Once a fox was hungry. It looked for food. It came to a garden. It saw grapes but they were high. It jumped three times but could not reach. It said, “Grapes are sour.”
Answer: Once there three cows lived near the forest. They grazed together. So the lions could not kill them. One day they quarrelled themselves. They grazed separately. Lions saw it. They killed them one by one.
Answer: Once an ant was sinking in water. A dove saw it. It threw a leaf. The ant climbed up the leaf and reached the bank safely. Another day a hunter was aiming an arrow at the dove. The ant saw it. It bit his feet. He missed his aim. The dove flew away. It thanked the ant.
Answer: Once there lived a cricket which was very silly. It used to sing all summer without doing anything. It did not store any food for winter. When the winter came, it found no food to eat. It was dying of hunger. So it decided to go to an ant. It begged the ant for food. But the ant refused to give anything. It remarked that the cricket must dance in the winter as it did during summer. Saying these, the ant turned out the cricket.
